Introduction

Lovi-Fish, also known as Betta fish, are one of the most popular and beautiful species of freshwater fish in the aquarium hobby. Appearance

Lovi-Fish come in a wide variety of colors and fin types, ranging from vibrant reds, blues, and purples to pastel pinks, yellows, and whites. Their fins can be long and flowing, like those of a delta or halfmoon Betta, or short and rounded like those of a plakat Betta. In addition to their striking colors and fin types, Lovi-Fish also have unique iridescent scales that shimmer in the light, giving them an almost otherworldly appearance.

Behavior

Despite their small size, Lovi-Fish are known for their feisty and territorial nature. Male Lovi-Fish, in particular, are aggressive towards other males and will often flare their fins and display their vibrant colors to intimidate their rivals. It is not recommended to keep two male Lovi-Fish in the same tank unless it is very large and heavily planted to provide hiding spots and break lines of sight.

Care

Lovi-Fish are relatively easy to care for, making them a great choice for beginner aquarists. They require a minimum tank size of 2.5 gallons, although a larger tank is always preferable. Lovi-Fish are tropical fish and prefer water temperatures between 75-80°F. They are labyrinth fish, which means they breathe air directly from the surface, so it is important to leave a small opening at the top of the tank for them to access the air.
